MY GAWD! MY GAWD! CENA'S A HOMEWRECKER! It didn't take Kane to turn the WWE Universe against you John.
No word on if this is legit or a work, but the E is reporting that Randy Orton is injured and will not be competing in the Elimination Chamber match on Sunday. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...andy_Orton_s_Status_Following_RAW_Injury.html The Rock did an interview with Emptyvee today where he talked about what "a good girl" MC Whitey is. http://www.mtv.com/videos/movies/733763/the-rock-says-john-cena-is-such-a-good-girl.jhtml On March 3rd Mark Henry will be inducted into the inaugural class of the International Sports Hall of Fame, joining the likes of The Govenator and Randy Couture. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...OF_Update_on_the_Status_of_WWE_NXT_Helms.html
I know, right? Wishful thinking on Cena's part. Terrible spin. Also, poor Zack Ryder. Woo Woo Woo = sound of the ambulance. Pretty snoozy Raw all in all.
Here's one I didn't expect - Wrestlemania 29 will be held at MetLife Stadium (aka Giants Stadium), that's somewhat of a risk given the time of year and potential inclement weather (it's one thing for football, but wrestling?). So does this mean 30 won't be at MSG? http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...Mania_29_For_New_Jersey_-_Date_Announced.html In spite of his rant against Miz the other day, the Wrestling Observer reports that Alberto Del Rio is not well liked backstage, some feeling that his push is unfair and unwarranted. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...mployees_-_Details_On_His_Heat_Backstage.html Randy Ortons replacement in the Elimination Chamber Sunday night - Santino Marella. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...mber_Replacement_Mark_Henry_on_SmackDown.html
You know how we spent a fair ammount of time the last few weeks talking about the relevance of winning the Rumble or how World Title matches now start Mania when they should end the show and so on? Yeah tonight at Elimination Chamber they started with a chamber match and ended with the Kane/MC Whitey Ambulance Match which wasn't anything to really write home about but I'm sure the E will be pushing how MC Whitey did the his firemans carry drop (because lets be honest, who gives a fuck what they're calling it now) off the top of the ambulance. The chamber matches were so-so but there have been better, the Raw one was the better of the two. In the Smackdown one you did have Big Show climb into Bryans chamber while it was still locked and proceed to beat the shit out of him for a good minute or two which to be fair was something a little different. Neither title changed hands, Sheamus did come out after the Smackdown chamber and proceed to kick the shit out of Bryan as if to say that he's decided who his Mania opponent will be. I'm guessing that the E is trying to make the womens division more about the matches and in ring work when you have Beth Phoenix take on Tamina, but it was a so so match that had no real build up or story to, it bordered on pointless. Oh and with Santino they did this whole Rocky bit throughout the night, in the back he's sucking down on eggs, punching a slab of meat, running up the stairs and so on. At the end of the chamber it's him and Bryan and with the crowd rallying behind him they tried to do everything and anything humanly possible to get the masses to believe that Santino could pull it off, to be honest they made it work well in spite of the fact that common sense had him losing.
Well it finally happened, they've turned Eve Torres heel, thank you god in heaven! One down, one to go in the form of MC Whitey. Remember kids - Broskis before Hoeskis.
Ok that clearly wasn't how Dolph Ziggler was supposed to land outside of the ring, practically looked like he went jaw first into the announce table. EDIT: Update - Wade Barrett has suffered an arm injury. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...Raw_Main_Event_Taken_To_Medical_Facility.html
Wade Barrett is officially sidelined for 6 to 8 weeks with a partial left elbow dislocation, while there was some intial hope last night that he'd recover in time for Mania it's now apparent that he'll miss out. There's be no word on Ziegler so I guess we can assume he's ok or cleared to work. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...arrett_Former_WWE_Stars_Criticize_Aksana.html Rumors have it that the main event for Over The Limit (which should be the PPV that follows Mania) will feature a three way between Sheamus, Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton for the World Title. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...Title_Match_for_WWE_s_Over_the_Limit_PPV.html
I gotta say, the Elimination Chamber PPV was really great and put the Rumble to complete shame. Top to bottom a really great show. I even appreciated the 'impromptu' mixed tag match thrown in, and the Women's match was shoulders above all women's matches in recently member. I didn't care much for the Ambulance match and the second Elimination chamber match didn't quite match the first, though to see the crowd super hot for Santino was really something. Also why the hell is Khali resign? He's being jobbed out all over the place.
CM Punk and Chris Brown have now engaged in a Twitter war, starting with Punk: Response from Brown: Then Punk with a dead serious video, with the caption This Must Be Said:
The Punk/Brown Twitter war continued on a little while longer last night - Brown Tweeted while Punk was working in the ring, in response Punk used the an anti-female abuse name. Punk went on Hot 97 this morning to state his case: WWE.com is claiming that if Shaq does appear at Mania he won't be wrestling. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe/WWE_Says_Shaquille_O_Neal_Won_t_Wrestle_at_WrestleMania_28.html Chris Hero has arrived in WWE developmental and will be known as Kassius Ohno, or KO as a play on his nickname of "That Young Knockout Kid". http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...ck_Responds_to_Cena_Rollins_Kassius_Ohno.html So where did Brodus Clay dissapear to? Apparently Vince isn't happy with his in ring work, and others in the E heirarchy think he's been unsafe and reckless in the ring. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...ckless_WWE_Looking_At_Digital_Publishing.html Apparently things between the E and Rey Mysterio aren't going all that smoothly. For one there have been the difficult contract discussions from Rey's side, but also there's frustration from the E as Rey is taking longer than expected to return from his injuries. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe..._On_Rey_Mysterio_Rating_For_Monday_s_Raw.html There should be a match at Mania revolving around Teddy Long vs John Laranitus to see who will GM both Raw and Smackdown, per the Wrestling Observer it looks as though it'll be a team of heels representing Laranitus and a team of faces representing Long. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...g_Feud_Is_Headed_Otunga_Against_Bullying.html
Fucking ridiculous. They hype the guy for ages, bring him out with a ridiculous gimmick that he actually owns and then they're like OH WAIT, MAYBE NOT. Doesn't anybody watch his ring work behind the scenes to make calls like this before he comes out on TV? Dumbasses.
Also screw CM Punk, the media should be all over the Iron Shiek's feud against Chris Brown https://twitter.com/#!/the_ironsheik
The E released their fourth quarter and full year results, noting they had an operating loss of $13.1 million which is down about ten million from the year before. http://ir.corporate.wwe.com/file.aspx?IID=4121687&FID=12752661 On Wednesday Shaq was on the air with Mike & Mike In The Morning on ESPN Radio claiming he would in fact be wrestling at Mania, contrary to what the E was saying earlier in the week. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...nia_28_USA_To_Air_Rock_Cena_Special_More.html With regards to his current critics in the WWE locker room, on Twitter The Rock says: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...ds_To_His_Critics_In_The_WWE_Locker_Room.html Brian Kendrick has been removed from the TNA roster page, he's most likely been released. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/tna...r_Page_Sarita_Wrestles_While_Sick_Brooke.html
Brodus Clay returned to action last night in LA and picked up a win over David Otunga, unfortunately we've now learned that one of his dancers is Ariane Andrews (aka Tough Enough contestant "My favorite WWE match is Melina vs Alicia Fox"), pardon me as I ralph for giving that idiot a job. Also worth noting during the main event match between CM Punk and Dolph Ziegler there was a loud en mass "CHRIS BROWN SUCKS!" chant from the crowd. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...elebrity_Talks_Cena_vs_The_Rock_and_More.html Drew McIntyre is being re-packaged with an "arrogant playboy" gimmick, possibly with some homosexual tendencies ala Goldust in his starting days. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...ck_Change_New_Jack_Cuts_Promo_Austin-HBK.html Shane Helms defended the Rock against his critics in the locker room on his Twitter feed: Also Lance Storm said that The Rocks detractors need to shut up: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe/The_Rock_Says_Many_Wrestlers_Don_t_Understand_The_Business.html JR's two cents on the issue: Also with regards to Owen Hart being inducted into the HOF: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe..._Of_The_Rock_Jeff_Hardy_Returning_To_WWE.html Speaking of, here's some Tweets from Smith Hart with regards to Martha not allowing Owen to be inducted: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...n_Hart_Not_Being_In_the_WWE_Hall_of_Fame.html Will the Kings Of Wrestling - Chris Hero and Claudio Castignoli, now known as Kassius Ohno and Antonio Cesaro - be reuniting in the E? According to insiders the E didn't hire them to put them back together as a team, but some sources in creative are saying that it's a possibility depending on where the tag team division goes. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe...eaming_in_WWE_Chamber_DVD_Blu-ray_Extras.html
BTW - Shinra Online, trending worldwide right now. Punks promo on "no ginormous intros, no pyro, no bs gimmicks, just a ring", spot on! Gingers Eat Vegans - Sign of the night.
Interesting to see Cena been quite heelish with his short interruption of Rock's promo, though his arguments aren't anything new. Rock doesn't care about the wrestling company his father and grandfather built a legacy in, tear in eye. I think the wrist notes jab was a bit of a shoot-snark on Rock, cause Rock looked legit pissed from then until the end of the show.
