I haven't had a problem. The odd hair in my curry at a Thai buffet restaurant, but I've just fished it out and carried on. It's not going to kill me.

My dad had a worse one at a Chinese restaurant in town where not one but two successive dishes had dead flies floating in, while my stepsister's had a dead ant. Either the Chinese have suddenly become really fucked up with their garnishes or that shouldn't have happened.

Welcome to eating in a third world country. You get used to it after a while.

Eating at a Yoshinoya, I found a used, bloody bandage in the beef bowl I was eating once. They gave me a replacement beef bowl. I stopped eating beef bowls for a few years.

I usually only dine at 5 star establishments so these types of things are unheard of to me. Recently I had the omakase sushi at Masa for 300 dollars, not including alcohol and tip. It was divine. I can assure you there were no roaches involved.

I think that if you're going to eat at places like the Cheesecake factory or Applebees then you're going to get what you paid for. If I were poor and couldn't afford to eat a high end restaurants I would probably resign myself to making food instead of eating at terrible establishments and risking food poisoning or who knows what else.
