New Resident Evil 6 Info Emerges The President Isn't Ashley's father By Andrew Goldfarb, February 15th 2012
Have any of you seen this? It's dumb beyond belief. i mean i'm fair looking forward to Resi 6 aswell but come on, do they really think people have that sort of money, i'm detecting instant money loss. http://kotaku.com/5900944/resident-evil-6s-ridiculous-1000-collectors-edition/gallery/1 All i can take from this is what i already knew already. game developers are not game developers anymore, they're businessmen, and very bad ones at that.
I saw that and I laughed because some out of shape game nerd thinks they'll look good in that coat. lol But seriously, you can get a custom made leather jacket for that price or less.
There are some crazy collectors out there who would pay 1K, and that's their business. It doesn't impact on me one bit. I can't seen them selling like hotcakes or anything, but whatever floats your boat. Anyway, re: trailer. Chris vs Leon stand-off? Very interesting. Looks like it's over Ada - who I have to say, if didn't have that haircut, would look like a completely different character. Her face model seems to have changed. Also I'm not liking the fact that it looks like she's shifting from grey to evil. Thumbs down if that sticks.
Well Ada was never a saint, she doesn't want the world burnt to the foundation but let's be honest she's always in it for herself and her agenda alone.
She was never a saint no, but she was also never infecting people with any virus variation or creating BOWs. That's a pretty big shift from redeemable noir tweener to being outrightly villainous.
It is going around that there was a leak [that got several of the new character names correct before the new trailer] that insinuates Ada has a clone named Carla. Trying to find it at the moment.
Mostly captures from the trailer, but still: EDIT: Also a few updates from nohopeleft.com - Something about the site getting shut down and then an audio clip which people are hypothesising is in Mandarin, sounds like a woman upset and frantic.
I'm intrigued. It looks more promising than RE5... but, then, RE5 looked promising when it was announced too. I doubt they'll ever re-capture the charm of the first games in the series, which from the sounds of it they aren't trying to do anyway. But they really have strayed from the atmosphere that RE4 had, I hope they get that back. If I know me, and I do, I'll be picking this up and shooting zombies and/or BOWs later this year.
Some of those screen shots do look pretty tasty. I'm still not hyped though. I thought RE5 was decent enough but eh. Will see how this goes.
RE5 wasn't terrible, but it promised more than it delivered. It was an Action game, the survival aspect was gone, and the horror was minimal if at all. In the RE5 DLC Lost in Nightmares they brought enough tension and atmosphere back to make it worthwhile, so it's possible for Capcom to do it right. Don't get me wrong, I played the shit out of RE5. I went back to play it again, but in the last few chapters I felt less like I was fighting infected people, and more like I was just shooting black people... not the experience I wanted.
I agree really. The I think the series pretty much peaked in terms of atmosphere and scares during RE1 and RE2. Since then, the game may have become far more playable but it's also become more goofy at the same time. Not to say that's generally a bad thing but I certainly can't take it as seriously.
I'm hyped, but then again I'm a Resident Evil mark. Also the RE5 bashing - I still don't get it. I'm not going to call it the best game in the series but I thought it got the job done and I welcomed having a two player co-op Tone wise though 6 looks much darker and desparate than 5, which is of course a good thing.
