Also an interesting viewpoint I saw tweeted early day, which I was curious what other thoughts were: while Osama was a wanted man and there was always a low chance he was ever going to be captured alive, is all of the focus on celebrating and showing his dead body via media outlets the wisest move? Al Qaeda are still very active without him. Then again it's not like there would never be a retaliation no matter what happened.

Celebrating death and displaying corpses show poor class and primitive bloodthirst, and the reverence of their own civilization should prevent the Americans from doing this. But on the other hand, the extremist islam you find in Al Quaida is close to a death cult, with a prominent suicide culture and severe devaluation of human life. It is an organization so obsessed with human death, for both its enemies and accomplices, and it would be odd to apply our own taboo of human passing to someone so undeserving of that respect.
Amused that the students celebrating Bin Laden's death with street parties and junk were probably around 9-10 when it happened.
