What's some stand out memories you have of some live music events you've been to? I saw Nine Inch Nails back in 07 during their Year Zero tour, and near the end of the set some drunk douche in the crowd was heckling or yelling something during Hurt, which if you're familiar with NIN is a personal song to Trent Reznor. TR stops dead in the middle of the song and singles this guy out and has a little convo with him over the stage, tearing him down. From there the band jumps straight into The Hand That Feeds (appropriate) and storms off stage. The crowd was yelling for an encore for a good 15 mins afterwards, but all Trent did was walk out, shake his head "no", and walk back off. At the time it was shitty but in hindsight it's a pretty neat story.
I saw Muse a few years back before the got really popular (and boring), and it was probably one of the best concerts I've been to.
I paid almost a hundred bucks to stand for hours (front row though) at a Neil Young show. Got shoved around by a group of teenagers that reeked of pot/R&R that wanted to hear greatest hits only but it was worth it because that old bastard still puts on an amazing show. Another experience that is a lot less awesome: McMaster and James [who? Yeah, pretty gay and I just dated myself] came to my high school and I asked one of them to write 'you're awesome' on a piece of paper and the dude wrote 'Your awesome.' I kept it and still laugh at it to this day.
