I just posted that I love Miso soup in another thread, and almost immediately realized that I do not even know how to cook it myself. This is something I really should learn. Are there any tips, advice, or personal recipes from all you Miso lovers out there?
Pretty simple really. Just remember to always put in your miso last and never boil/simmer the miso... Otherwise it loses all it's nutritional value! 1 quart stock 2 cups water 2-3 TBLSP miso paste(use red, white or yellow) tofu veggies meats noodles Heat the water and stock and simmer(you can add some raw veggies and simmer until done or add in cooked veggies later.) Take off heat and take about a cup of hot broth and mix with miso. Pour back into broth and stir. Add veggies/meats/noodles Consume.
Thank you both, much appreciated. If you ever need any recipes from me, please do not hesitate to ask. I prefer that the exchange of information is ideally a mutually beneficial relationship, and one that can be used to unite us under our common interests. And Miso is certainly one of my bigger interests these days.
The more simplistic the miso, the better, imo. All I use, aside from miso paste and dashi stock, are tofu, green onions, and the non-slimy kind of nori/seaweed.
Agreed. The magic is in the broth, and the simplicity. I do not eat many noodles, and I definitely do not eat any meat.
