Why are there 2 Mass Effect threads? Anyway, pre-ordered this. Apparently GS is giving out defender armor and a valkyrie rifle.
One is about the demo impressions, which while related isn't quite indicative about the full game (which this thread is about). Imma pre-order the Collector's Edition tomorrow. I was talking to Funk earlier and he said they're selling out of pre-orders for the CE in his area.
The best kind. I haven't enjoyed playing a game with peeps this much in a while. The idea that you earn things by buying packs (much like buying trading cards) is a stroke of genius and will keep nerds playing for months. My only raging disappointment is that the krogan, turian, drell, revenant rifle and carniflex pistol I unlocked will all be lost on the fifth. I've pre-ordered though and got a discount on top of it.
Yeah, I was really really impresed. Not that I was expecting a failure or anything but compared to the single player experience which Mass Effect is built around, I was expecting something really superfluous which outside of contributing to the single player experience (as the multiplayer is said to do), I would never got back to it again. But after playing the multiplayer in the demo, I can see myself playing way too much and lagging behind in the main story.
That makes no sense whatsoever. The demo gives a glimpse of the opening story which basically sets up discussion for the full game.
Apparently the Standard Edition has a reversible cover with FemShepard. Something you suckers with the CE won't get.
Fuck FemShep THAT'S RIGHT, I SAID IT. The demo actually skips some of the game opening which happens before the demo events and it's not a complete multiplayer either. It may as well be a beta.
Got my CE pre-order on yesterday. Happy there were still a few left to secure, I've been hearing how places in the US have been running out of stock. I know Funk tried to get one at places around Pittsburgh and was coming up empty.
