Yo -- I saw the preview while watching MI4 last night and I gotta say, GI Joe: Retaliation looks awesome! We have The Rock, Bruce Willis and a really hot looking Scarlett along with what seems to be a decent plot. Wait, what? Rachel Nichols isn't in the cast listing for this one, and I'm assuming anyone else who won't be returing for the Joes (specifically Ripcord and Heavy Duty) are DOA based on that trailer. And that doesn't explain why Destro and The Barroness won't be returing, unless they saying that she got killed in that assault also as she's somehow actually a good guy based on this retarded storyline they've put together. To be fair it wasn't a horrible movie, but it got a little absurd (underwater fire, yeah that made sense). I would of liked it if they had added Shipwreck and Spirit to the Joe team for this movie and added the Crimson Guard and Zartans Dreadnoks to Cobra.
My biggest issue(besides it being lame all around) was the horrid CGI in the first one. Well, that and Dennsi Quaid.
That's all a bit wierd. It's a bit of a risk to be shedding so many chracters from the first, especially when Dennis Quaid, Marlon Wayans, Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Sienna Miller, Jospeh Gordon-Levitt and Christopher Eccleston played such prominent roles. That's like 75% of the original cast! At least they still have Arnold Vosloo and Jonathan Pryce around to carry the thread from the end of the first film.
