Hi everyone, http://www.time.com/time/world/artic....html?xid=rss- Anyone else think that xenophobia in general, is on the rise in many places where society had supposedly transcended such bigotry? It may just be me paying more attention, but I don't remember anything on this scale during my lifetime. I am not just referring to this story, but in general. I think the US is more uptight today between Mexicans and Muslims than we were right after 911.
Bad link, btw. I don't think the American government is necessarily "afraid" of Muslims and Mexicans....I just think it's a control issue. It doesn't really matter though, America is pushing towards global government anyhow.
Wow. People still use the term Gypsy? The Romani people are, according to new studies, from India and Pakistan so Gypsy is a false term. And also, Ade of Stone, the Romani people aren't from Romania either. I don't know about America being "uptight about Mexicans and Muslims", as you put it. I think certain parts of America are wary and even downright racist when it comes to both Mexicans(both legal and illegal) and Muslims. I live in San Antonio and it houses the only training base of the Air Force which means we they also train the allies of the US so it's not uncommon to see Muslims around the base and around town. I've yet to see anyone look at them funny or even make any sort of derogatory remark about them. Not saying that it doesn't happen, but it seems like, at least, the city is very tolerant. As for "Mexicans", I live 2 hours from the border so most of the population is Hispanic/Latino so that isn't even an issue here. I can't comment on the article due to it not working but hasn't France been intolerant towards the Roma for a while now? And France expelling the Romani is completely different than anti-Muslim sentiment in some states.
There may just be me taking more attention, but I haven't remember anything and this scale at my lifetime, I am not referring to this story, but in common. I think US is being more uptight today between Muslims and Mexicans than we were right after 911.
The U.S. was complaining about the Mexican problem for years and years and the government does nothing about it beside give them all amnesty ever ten years. The Muslim problem was not a problem until 9/11 . i can not really feel bad for the gyps in Europe. Mexico have the same problem with the native Indians. They will come to you house ask for money and you tell them just to sweep the floor they would look at the broom and just leave. Fuck they would not even take the broom to sell at least. So, the Mexican treat them like shit and could really care about them. If they are not integrating into society don't feel bad for them. Why help people who don't want to be helped in the first place. I go to your society to live i will integrate into your society you come to mine you intergrate into mine....Well unless you live in the US. we are forced to go to your anyways.
I spent most of my life growing up in eastern europe, and the gypo problem over there is crazy. It's easy to hate on France for taking the initiative without experiencing living with them first hand...they are completely unwilling to even try to get an education or move up and progress through the system. Mainly they just resort to crime(their mafia is a pretty messed up bunch). They sort of move into a certain area of a town and set up enormous squatter camps and take over. As for mexicans, legally here I'm all for it, but i think the US government gives enough concessions to illegal immigrants. You can't hop a border into a country no questions asked and expect to be given equal treatment, it's not how the world works. If you want to move out of your drug-cartel run country file the proper paperwork and hope you get the OK, otherwise if you wanna hop borders expect the damnation you deserve.
Well, I'm pissed cause Australia wouldn't take me in 70, they said all they wanted was Doctors and Lawyers as immigrants, now how many Doctors and Lawyers does a country like Australia really need, and why do they need a damned Lawyer to begin with! Too late, they had their chance to get me when I was free, now it would cost them.
