But no joke, EA is sending copies of Mass Effect 3 into the damn atmosphere, I kid you not. Even USA Today is reporting on this stunt: I'm in two minds about this promotion. On the positive side, I actually think it's kinda cool. In my mind going after a copy of the game would be like the storm chasing scenes from Twister - hold the Helen Hunt (but keep the Cary Elwes, no homo). On the negative, EA WHY NO BALLOON FOR AUSTRALASIA?
Do you actually physically go after the game or are you just going after a location, sending them the location, and they mail you off a game? I can't see a single good thing coming from people chasing after the game physically ala Rat Race. I foresee many people getting the shit kicked out of them in isolated locations of the world so people can get a copy to put on ebay for 10x the price (Like the idiots that bought MW3 for $7000 for merely a week before launch).
Update: EA's first day of launches in San Fran failed horribly. One got stuck in a 150 foot tall tree, while another landed in the desert and was never seen again. https://www.facebook.com/masseffect/posts/261832453892145
