I've been working for months on woolen dreads. Now I finally have one set done! The other set is going to be black, red, purple, blue and white......
niice! That's pretty cool. How the hell do you get that from wool exactly? lol. Interested in seeing the other set of colors.
You basically get unfelted wool and divided into pieces and dip it into boiling water, roll it out into a dread, dip it in the boiling water again, roll it again. Dip it in cold water and squeeze it out and let it dry for about 2 days then you will probably have to re-felt some again if they didn't hold well enough. Then you braid shit in, then you attach them to a yarn or something..... I've spent over 7 1/2 hours felting the wool and probably another....5-8 hours braiding and attaching.... Now I just have to braid and attach the other set.... It's a really long process, but really fun to see the end product and not pay big monies for it....
Wow they're really nice! It's not often you see dreads in nice pastel colours like that. Normally it's all black, dark purple and radioactive green.
I figured it would be nice to have a faerie set and a more goth set. Two of my favorite dress-up things. ^_^ But yeah, slowly working on the other one. I got a piano now so that has taken up some of my free time.... But I can get the dreads done in the next week or so.
No it's hair falls. You tie them onto a yarn and tie/attach it to your hair. Since I have such long natural hair I couldn't make extensions, which would be braided onto my hair.
Haha you hashtagged in a forum post I know there's a 99% chance you did that on purpose but I'm still amused.
