Ever played Disaster Report for the PS2? That's kind of what it's like when shit happens on a man-made island.

I can imagine these islands being useful for escaping from confining copyright laws. Especially for you're wanted for Copyright Infringement.

Certain countries already use offshore floating factories and mills. Japan buys logs from us, float them out to the processing ship and makes lumber, then ship it right back to us, and now we have a 4 dollar 2x4 that would have cost 1 dollar had we processed it here. I can see something like the floating city except it doesn't really float but is tied down or anchored, or I should have said floating country. The world is already so corrupt with just a handful of people pulling the strings and writing laws. I don't think there is a country that you are actually born a free person. Eventually people get tired of tyranny and put a stop to it, the whole world is due for a wake up.

All very true. However, to rise up and rebel is different from acknowledging certain facts. Egypt is a good example of overthrowing leadership. However, Egypt is not America or Japan or the entirety of Europe. Our spirits have dwindled, the light of revolution we had was lost a long time ago. What we had in the day, protests, marches, small skirmishes in the streets over rights...those are over. We now wholly submit ourselves to whatever governmental body owns us.

We can sit down at our computers and write "change is coming" but if we're not actually helping then is there change?

The only reason you haven't seen any movement is because people can still feed their children, you mark my words, people will not sit by and watch their children starve and when that starts happening you will see the 2nd revolution and it won't be a pretty one. The only good thing on the horizon is that the age of all those crooks in DC is getting quite old now and they will start dropping in the next couple years, then maybe there will be a chance of amending a lot of the harm they have done. This kenyan is a mere bump in the road and it may have been a good thing people have opened their eyes and took a long look at what tyranny really is. They really need to take a long look at all this czar bull shit and the legality of it all, I don't think the signers had intended for someone to devise a way around the constitutional running of the country.

I think few people actually see that corruption or understand the problems with this government. People would rather remain blissfully in ignorance and go on about their lives (especially the younger generations).

    Maybe I'm being pessimistic, though.

And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well.

Heh this thing is loaded for disaster if it ever gets made, but the fact that it could exist as a manmade sea structure is really damn cool.

I'll make you a little bet, Kevin Costner won't be investing. Water World should have been made by Australians then it would have made money.

I don't know what we could have done which have made it less a box office bomb. :p
