I think that judging by the fact that you post on this forum it's safe to assume you would like some of the great current books like hunger games or the girl with the dragon tattoo series. They are really good and as a poster of this forum I have a feeling you will enjoy them! I recommend getting some Tina if you have access and just making a day of it.
Unless you are interested in atheist literature the only thing as of late I've read that I could somewhat recommend would be Life Expectancy- Dean Koontz It's about a guy that was born right as his grandfather died, a grandfather who on his death bed made predictions of days in time which things would happen to to his soon to be born grandchild. There were a shitload of typos in the copy I read.. I was surprised... but the story itself was a good read and kept my attention.
Have you read From The Corner Of His Eye by Koontz? Sounds kinda similar, with the pre-ordained destinies and junk.
eh i wouldnt say making me read.. rather i read one to see why she thought he was so great... it was ok but i didnt see it.. shes recently read through the girl with the dragon tattoo series and the hunger games shit.. i will pass and just see the movie lol
