Here's what we know so far, first our plot synopsis:
The story itself sounds kind of like the same approach that Netherealm took with the most recent Mortal Kombat - We're going to retell the old stories to you but it'll all be updated and re-packaged, and in the process give you something new while establishing a new storyline and characters so the series can continue on.
What's old is finally, FINALLY, new again. Just announced during Sony's conference at E3, looks like Square Enix have finally gotten around to equipping the Print Money materia:
Something to note at the end there is "first on Playstation 4", shorthand for some sort of timed exclusive deal which will end up seeing it go to PC and/or Xbox One.
Just watched A Samurai Chronicle (Higurashi no Ki).
Very interesting take on morals, duty, and family. It's based on a book and I feel like I want to read a book.
The story is about a samurai, Shozaburo, who gets in trouble and would be put to death. Instead, as part of a Prime Minister pardon, he is given the task to oversee another samurai, Toda, who has the task to write down the history of the current daimyo's family. After Toda finishes the written history, he must kill himself for a wrongdoing he did 7 years prior. From that date of infraction, he was given 10 years to write this history and then seppuku.
Shozaburo learns of life outside of the controlling daimyo and learns of the hardships of peasant life, but also sets out to discover what happened all those years ago that Toda is sentenced to death. It also questions what is most important, right, and living life...
